About
Hello, welcome to the wonderful world of……well just a bit of everything. I guess i should introduce myself, I’m Winnie, nice to meet you! Well i suppose i should give you a little background info at the moment i’ve completed my second year of uni, studying graphic design or Design for Visual Communication to be precise at the University of Ulster in Belfast (York Street). Currently i’m taking a gap year to intern at different agencies to gain industry experience and hopefully a bit of travelling as well (Berlin in Nov for a week, and Hong Kong in January for 3 months, fingers crossed.) I come from an art background like many others having done it for GCSE, A-Level, Art Foundation and now a design degreee. My interests lie in graphic design (obviously), photography, illustration and anime basically just anything random, cute, unusual and quirky. (Yes i’m a big fan of Hello kitty before you ask). =^-^=
The purpose of this blog? Well apparently it’s part of my grade in uni and i have to keep it for the full threeish years i’ll be there. How much of it’s true? I don’t really know and does it definitely count? I don’t know, but i started in summer 2009 and i think i’ve kept up quite well with it, since i enjoy finding wee things to show you guys. It’s quite fun. ^__^ The content of the blog will be a reflection of myself, any little brainwaves that i have anything i find remotely interesting even if it’s a ketchup wrapper or toilet paper i’ll post. Yes quite random, (expect that >_<) but you can also expect to find a showcase of my work both from uni and my personal adventures.
Now…what else to write about? Think i’ve covered the basics but if you’ve got any questions please don’t hesitate to drop me a email at hello@winnieshek.com or follow me on twitter @winnieshek. You can also download my resume here, but for my work please visit the portfolio section of the site. It was nice to meet you and i hope you enjoy my posts even though i probably ramble on a bit. Lol Well that’s me, visit again soon.

Dear Winnieshek,
I enjoyed your site and I thought your visitors might be interested in viewing a unique library of historic pop-up books videos at childrensbookstore.com.
Our online pop-up library includes historic pop-up books dating from 1890 to 1978 such as Star Wars, Flash Gordon, Mickey Mouse, and more. Each pop-up book is showcased with a high-quality video and still photographs. Each one also has a pdf download of the entire book.
We invite to you link to the video library and help us display these wonderful works of art to pop-up book fans all over the world. The link for the new library is found at: http://www.childrensbookstore.com/vintage-pop-up-books Each video has embed code so you can seamlessly integrate the videos into your own site.
We love the pop-up book format and we wanted to create a video library of some of the most rare and interesting pop-up books ever made. We’re trying to get the word out about this new library and thought this new video library would be a wonderful resource for the visitors to your site.
We will be adding a new vintage pop-up to the video library about once per month.
Please feel free to respond to this email with questions or comments.
Thank you,
Kyle Smith
